Shipping & Returns

At The Green Spot, we make every effort to select the most eco-friendly & fuel efficient method of shipment for your order. For the expediency of your order, to minimize your costs & minimize the mileage traveled by the items purchased, your order may be shipped via UPS, USPS, FedEx, or drop shipped directly from the manufacturer. Most orders are shipped within 3 business days. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an e-mail notification that contains a summary of your order, detailed shipping information, & tracking number(s) if applicable.

After shipment, please allow approximately 2-7 business days for your order to arrive. Expedited shipping options (priority, 2nd day, etc.) are available & can be selected during the online check out process. Occasionally, orders may be shipped in multiple packages. This usually happens when one or more items in the order are drop shipped or if expedited shipping is requested.

To maximize promptness & accuracy of your shipment, please be sure that you have provided an appropriate & valid shipping address. Since we are charged shipping costs for packages returned due to an inaccurate address, we must bill for those charges.

Packaging:

We procure our on-site packaging materials from a regional source that specializes in 100% recycled, sustainable, biodegradable, & compostable packaging materials. We make every effort to select vendors & manufacturers that themselves utilize these kinds of eco-friendly packaging materials whenever possible. We also feel it is better to reuse non-”green” packaging materials we receive from vendors rather than adding them to the landfills. Therefore, you will occasionally find these materials in some packages or notice we‘ve reused box your order is shipped in. We encourage you to also reuse or recycle these materials whenever possible. If you don’t expect to be sending packages anytime soon, local shipping companies & some non-profit organizations are often glad to get such donations.

Since the industry is still young, vendors are limited & not all use eco-packaging at this time. Nonetheless by making eco-friendly choices, you will increase the demand for green products & more and more vendor / manufacturer competition will be added to the market. As we expand, we will be able to better use our economic influence on vendors & manufacturers to encourage them to utilize more eco-friendly material themselves. To that end, we need your help & support. Together, we can use our hard earned green to influence others to be green!RETURNSWe can accept returns on most products (non-returnable items noted below) within 30 days from the purchase date for any reason, even if the product is not defective or damaged. Undamaged or non-defective returned items must be in resalable condition with original packaging & receipt. Please note that although we try to minimize them, some items do require a re-stocking fee (see note below). We make every effort to ensure our customer’s satisfaction with our products & service, so we ask that you please contact us directly to process your return. This will ensure that the product is returned to the correct address and you receive your replacement, credit, or refund as quickly as possible. We will pay the additional shipping costs on damaged or defective products only.

Non-Returnable items:

Opened consumables, personal care items, and worn or washed clothing items may not be returned for sanitary reasons. If the items are incorrect & remain unopened in their original packaging, they may be returned.

Items subject to Re-Stocking Fees:

For some items, a re-stocking fee may be charged. We try to note this in the product detail description for items that fall into this category along with what the re-stocking fee percentage is for that item. Larger items, such as solar panels, large composters, etc. typically incur such a charge due to the unique & time-consuming process of pulling, packing, & shipping them.
